Vision inspired by Passion / Southern Oregon Photographer

“There’s a great freedom when you pursue something from this passion–it’s tough to be dissuaded. You don’t do it because you can, but because you can’t not.”

David duChemin

As I step..no.. leap into this new year of adventures in photography, I am carefully taking inventory of what I have to offer as an artist.  What inspires me?  What do I love to photograph?  What is MY vision?  What do I have to offer in this over-saturated market that 1,000’s of other more talented photographers provide?

In searching my heart and soul for the answers, I have come to the conclusion that all I have to offer really is ME.  My vision. Ultimately , I am the final product.

Vision changes daily!:)  However; the passion does not.  It grows stronger with every session I shoot.  In the deepest crevice of my heart lies a true passion for documenting LIFE, and that is what drives me.   To capture  a fleeting moment, a breath, a smile, a laugh.

I want to tell a story with my imagery. I don’t just want to “take pictures”.  Anyone can do that.:)

I am also a firm believer in that what I photograph best, is what I am most passionate about.  I want to provide the best product I can for my clients, and if I am not passionate about something, they won’t be happy with the images. More importantly, I won’t be happy with them.:)

I will not be taking on any event photography, or new family sessions this year. My main focus is going to be High School Seniors and Wedding Photography.  (And of course I could never say no to Belly’s and Baby’s)  I have truly fallen in love with Weddings, (crazy, I know), and I want to dive into developing my own vision for weddings and couples photography.  I might fail in the process, but I have to follow my heart.  My vision.

I will leave you with a few shots a client shot of me photographing his children last summer…it was really fun seeing myself through someone else’s lens..doing what I love.  :)

blessings,

AK
